Puddles at City Hall Recede

Heavy rain continued to fall since Sunday (2/8) to Monday (2/9) caused flooding at some areas in capital. One of the areas that affected by the flood is Jakarta Governor Office on Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan. However, the puddle at City Hall has gradually subsided by this noon.

Based on Jakarta Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the flood that occurred since Sunday had submerged Block F which contained of Health Management office (Puldakes) and Head of Jakarta Communication, Information, and Public Relation Sub-dept. office with 5 to 10 cm water.

"Yes, the Block F in City Hall had inundated at 1 am and start to recede at 3.23 am," said Denny, Jakarta Disaster Management Agency officer, Monday (2/9).

E. Jakarta Adminstration Ready to Build RTH

Denny added, his side immediately contacted the Jakarta Fire and Disaster Management when the puddle occurred. As a result, 2 fire trucks were deployed to suck the existing puddle.

"Finally, we know the puddle is caused by the cardboard trash that stuck in waterways," he told.

According to him, the trash is expected comes from renovation project at Block F.

One of the Jakarta Communication, Information, and Public Relation staffs, Dhini said, the employee still work to clean the area now and the electricity also turned off to prevent accident. "The absent machine is also turned off, so we use the manual absent," she said.
